Proton - Price history

The Proton brand was founded in the early 1990s in Malaysia as a small dealership. It grew rapidly, and by 1995 had over 100 stores. Its popularity in the Asian market led to its internationalisation in the late 1990s. In 2006, Proton merged with Renault, and a year later, Malaysia's largest manufacturer by market share, Lotus, entered into a partnership with Proton. Renault and Proton announced their intention to sell cars in China in 2009, and in 2010, Proton unveiled its first model in Vietnam.
