Match the car before comparing the number
- Make, model family, year and trim.
- Mileage and the unit used to measure it.
- Condition, known repairs and history.
- Market, currency, seller type and observation date.
- Equipment and terms included with the vehicle.
Compare entered totals
Write down the asking price, confirmed fees and estimated immediate repairs separately. Adding those values creates a comparable entered-cost total. It does not include unknown costs, running costs or financing unless you separately account for them.
Our comparison calculator keeps all options in one currency and shows the differences. It does not convert currencies or adjust prices for mileage or condition. An omitted repair estimate means no amount was entered, not that a car needs no work.
Check the evidence
Use dated source listings and confirm their availability. Compare your selected cars with recorded history for context, while keeping historical averages separate from current quotes.
For US dealer purchases, consult the FTC guide for written quotes, inspections and disclosures. For another market, use its relevant consumer authority.
