Car depreciation calculator.

Project a value from your assumptions, or calculate loss from two values.

Your scenario

Project a future value

Choose an annual rate yourself. We do not assume a market rate for your car.

Calculate loss from two values

Use your own starting and ending values. An increase is shown as appreciation.

A little more clarity

Make the assumptions visible.

Hypothetical example20,000 → 16,200

A starting value of 20,000 with an assumed 10% annual reduction leaves 16,200 after two years. This is arithmetic, not observed market data.

Your entries are used for this response and are not saved. No account, external valuation request or automatic market estimate is involved.

How the calculation works

Projection = starting value × (1 − annual rate ÷ 100) raised to the number of years. Total loss = starting value − ending value. Annualized loss = 1 − (ending ÷ starting) raised to 1 ÷ years. Values are rounded for display; the projection uses unrounded compounding.
